HP nightmare - DON'T BUY AN HP NOTEBOOK
Feb 7, 2008
HP complaint by NOmoreHPs
After shelling out the $1,000 =/- a year ago for an HP notebook, I was stupid enough to purchase what was touted as the BEST sevice plan possible for $469.00. Four years, replacement if I drop & break it, free shipping to and from repair facility, yada yada... 9 months after I bought it, I had several problems. Spent 2 days with techs from India who made me SPELL everything I said to them, and no resolution. I finally mailed it in to be fixed. A week later it arrives back. One issue fixed, the other two not. Another 2 wasted days with Tech Supprort and again my notebook gets mailed back. A week goes by, and nothing - not even an email confirming receipt. I call and "MUMBA" tells me they are waiting on the part. I asked her why the automated website says I still haven't returned the notebook to them yet. She then tells me after looking into it, it appears I haven't returned the notebook. UGH!! I ask for a supervisor and am given a number to call. I call and instead of a supervisor I get "RAHUL" who tells me I need to return the notebook to them for repairs. I am about ready to rip this guy a new one except I can't afford the airfare to India! I have a copy of the FEDEX receipt proving it was mailed, and received by C. GAMBO for God's sake. Finally I get a supervisor who tells me he will locate the notebook and get back to me the next morning. Next day comes and no call but at 5:00 a Fedex box arrives. AN EMPTY NOTEBOOK BOX to return my notebook to them - you know the one they already have! Over the next three days I call the supervisor, Nick using the "direct" line he gave me, and each time I'm automatically routed to the "next available tech"... He never returns a call. I ask for HIS supervisor and am told he doesn't have one. Finally he calls saying it is being repaired and will arrive back in another week. RIght smack in the middle of a business trip where I am supposed to be using this notebook. I ask him if it can shipped to me at the address where I'll be staying and am told that since 9/11 they can't reroute the packages. What a mess. THEIR SERVICE PLAN STINKS! I WANT MY NOTEBOOK and there is nothing I can do to get them remotely motivated!

My laptop problem is, when u turn it on nothing happen on the screen or system board.

I sent my laptop to HP for repair on Feb-18 they got it on Feb 21, sent me an email telling me i will get it on Feb 29, the 29 came someone called me n told me the laptop waiting for part so will be sent before March 14, 14came 5pm someone from Hp called me and told me the laptop waiting for part, it will be send March 28, everytime i told to them same story waiting for part, i asked them if the part was coming from another planet.

On the HP webpage they show very clear that when u send ur laptop for repair u will get it back in 7 or 10 business days, but i guess they are waiting for the part to come from a 3er world country.

None on the customer services cant tell u anything about ur repair, even the case manager have any idea where is ur laptop or what kind of repair it been done.

I will never buy a HP laptop, i will try Sony or Dell, im tired of waiting and customer services doing nothing for me.

I let u guys know when March 28.2008 come if i got my laptop.

Note. Please send me an e-mail about what legal action should i take against HP if on March 28 i dont get my laptop, thanks for any help

I have purchased or received as gifts many Hewlett Packard products. I have 1 desktop, 2 laptop computers, 1 HP all in one printer, scanner and copier and last but not least an HP camera. I have had nothing but problems with them all. I have had problems with every single HP product I have ever owned. Unfortunately many of these products were purchased within months of each other so I didn't know how poorly their customer service was and how poorly these products perform if they even perform at all after the warranty. On a couple of the items they seemed to work fine until right before or after the warranty ran out. On one laptop puchased from Best Buy the whole motherboard needed to be replaced and it was only 3 weeks after the one year warranty expired. I have contacted HP by phone and by email and to this date no one will help me. Please do NOT waste your money with HP products. I will be destroying this items in a video on "You Tube" and "MySpace" so please be on the look out for this video I promise it will be entertaining especially if you are also a consumer who like me has been taken for thousands of dollars on useful products for which you can get no help or customer service. By the way on this past Friday I received a postcard in the mail regarding a class action suit which as began against HP so don't take my word for it you can take a look at this class action suit. If you have purchased HP computers research this class action suit on the internet because you may also have a claim.
